Basic Electronics

$4.99

Electronics taught the bench way — tools in hand, circuits built, readings measured.

Basic Electronics by Cosmo is a plain-English bench course in how electronics really works. It starts with a “What You’ll Need” list of tools and parts, then takes components inside and out — resistors, capacitors, inductors, transformers — with labeled pictures of surface-mount and through-hole circuit boards, so you can name every part on a real board. Semiconductor theory follows, then Ohm’s law and Watt’s law, series and parallel circuits, and the full AC-to-DC thread: transformer, bridge rectifier, and voltage regulators. Op amps get a deep treatment of their own, including zero-and-span calibration for the 4–20 mA and 0–5 V instrument scales used in real industrial work. Then microprocessors — with a hands-on programming example you build yourself — oscilloscopes and test equipment, and soldering done right.

Seven Build It bench exercises run through the book: you solder each test circuit, then check your work against “measure this / expect this” checkpoints, so every idea has to survive contact with a real meter.

131 pages, illustrated throughout. Every project runs on batteries or a low-voltage bench supply only — and household wiring belongs to licensed electricians.
